Over the years since Dehra Dun became the capital of Uttarakhand, the city's most important heritage, it's canals have been systematically destroyed.

With most of the canals now underground, most main rivers almost dry, the ecosystem and environment of Dehra Dun is almost dead. Even more, the canals are our heritage and a symbol of Dehra Dun's long and glorious past.

Now, the government is planning to destroy the remaining canals and put them in underground pipes, all in the name of so called development.

We will not let this happen, let us all Doonites come together and stop this insanity.
