An incident that occured in the AMC (acute medical care) ward of Gandhi Hospital led to an injury of the duty doctor for informing a deceased patients' attenders that the patient had passed away. Both the attenders came barging into the ward, on hearing the news, and proceeded to verbally and physically assault the duty doctor present.

There were chairs and stools thrown at the Medicine PG in charge, along with the female interns and nurses present alongside him. No security was present outside the ICU where 80+ beds were full of COVID-19 patients. 

The junior doctors working in Gandhi Hospital are exhausted, tired, and working between 12-24 hours a day! Help them raise this issue to the government and stand up for the warriors on the frontline by signing this petition, asking for the following-

1. Decentralise GANDHI HOSPITAL as the ONLY Covid-19 center for a state with a population of 4 crore people.

2. Bring in POLICE SPF protection at Gandhi, which would ensure such incidents do not repeat.

3. Stringent action to be taken against the 2 accused attenders.

All the above demands would help improve patient care, as the patient load would become manageable, and the resources present would be sufficient.
