Kerala is fighting back. The State is in shock in the wake of the flood fury. While money is pouring from the Centre, various States and corporate, the relief camp organizers are struggling to get drinking water, chlorine tablets, under garments and clothes.

WE are quite sure that philanthropists and various Malayalee associations will take care of these needs.

What is more important now is to focus attention on post-flood recovery.

We can take count the loss of human lives but not of animals. The carcasses, the garbage mounting in the backlash of the floods is bound to create epidemics all across.

This is going to be a much more worrisome factor.

We need intervention by UNO and UNICEF.

We request the governments, the NGOs and the current relief camp organizers not to lose the tempo of relief and plan for the future on equal war footing.

Rebuilding Kerala is going to be a big challenge.

Let’s all do our bit. All parties - Left, Right or Centre - should work towards extending a helping hand to Kerala. Remember to message on #keralafightsback.
