The allocation of plots on which ISKCON Ujjain temple is built has been canceled in the absence of ex post facto sanction at the government level.

ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) is promoting spiritual awareness, culture and global tourism based on the teachings of Srimad Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam through the grand temple of Sri Sri Radha Madan Mohanji founded on plot no. 33, 34, 35, 36 and 37 in Bharatpuri Administrative Area. Communal discourse is being communicated through this temple in a time filled with complete inequalities. This institution is constantly trying for education of ethical education, character development, life management, love, peace and harmony, with the prohibition of evils of all kinds, such as the prohibition of all kinds of intoxicants, gambling and adultery.

This priceless center of ISKCON in Madhya Pradesh is providing invaluable cooperation in the social welfare of Ujjain. ISKCON has already earned the precious status in Ujjain through the Pride of Ujjain award. To support health and sports related activities, ISKCON constructed Bhaktivedanta Hall with the cost of 30 Lacs rupees in which yoga / sports-related / conference / health activities are being done daily. ISKCON made a significant contribution to the production and distribution of mid-day meal to the primary secondary schools of the city from 2007 till 2016. There is a hall which can accommodate an audience of five hundred people and is given free of cost to political and religious organizations by ISKCON from time to time.

Many activities are being conducted of the temple on above plots. It organizes many courses and seminars based on Bhagavad Bhakti such as Gita Study Course, Bhakti Shastri Course, Shuddh Vritti Course, etc. Srimad Bhagvatam is taught every day, worship of cows and of various deities, courses of Vaishnava Virtue, Bhakti tree, Harinam Sankirtan, Book distribution, chanting, meditation etc. are being performed.

In about 130 countries, ISKCON is promoting the message of Indian Vedic culture and Bhagavad Gita, humanity is being served. In fact ISKCON purchased said plots from Ujjain Development Authority (UDA) for the purpose of offices, spiritual and religious activities as per the determined price advertised by UDA. ISKCON built a beautiful temple, offices for different spiritual departments, residence for devotees (bhakta niwas), guest house (atithi niwas) through proper permission from collector, town and country planning and municipal corporation in 2006. But after 11 years of construction because of miscommunication between the government departments and UDA the allotment of said plots has been cancelled. About Rs. 30 Crores have been spent on these plots for all the above undertakings and this is where cultural, social, educational and spiritual activities are being conducted across the state.

We very kindly request the Honorable Chief Minister and other concerned officials and all the citizens, public representatives, journalists and social cultural workers of the state to kindly grant the ex post facto sanction of allotted five plots allocated to the ISKCON institution in the interest of religion and culture and society and treat the land-usage according to ISKCON's activities.

Kindly share with others to save this holy place of worship.
