On June 10, 2020 Abel Rosiles Jr. was taken into custody by the Round Lake Beach Police. Allegations were made by the Round Lake Beach Police that he had choked on a “baggie of cocaine”. Toxicology reports confirmed that Abel Rosiles Jr had NO cocaine in his system.

Eyewitnesses say Rosiles was walking & talking when he exited the Thornton's gas station in handcuffs. Video footage taken by witness shows two large officers on top of a handcuffed Rosiles who was faced down on ground while police are on top of him placing pressure on his back & legs. Rosiles appears to lose consciousness while police are on top of him. The Round Lake Beach Police negligence & harm caused the death of Abel Rosiles Jr who was unarmed & not a threat to them.

We demand the IMMEDIATE REMOVAL of the two officer involved in the death of Abel Rosiles Jr. and a full investigation by the Lake County IL State's Attorney Eric Rinehart, RLBPD Chief Gilbert Rivera and the Acting Mayor of Round Lake Beach, IL-Scott Nickels to investigate this incident thoroughly, with a just outcome & to immediately REMOVE the four Officers involved in said incident from public duty until investigation is complete.
