In the last election, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were stolen in one state. In another, all votes went to a single political party, raising grave doubts about the reliability of the EVMs.

There was also a long gap between polling and counting which made many citizens worry about the possibility of post poll tampering. The functioning, safety and operation of EVMs have raised several questions which have not been satisfactorily answered. The list of concerns keeps growing, as many key elections are just round the corner.
