Remove racism and misinformation from Chesapeake School Board

Remove racism and misinformation from Chesapeake School Board
The Issue
Chesapeake is the city that cares. Chesapeake City School Board needs to embrace those ideals to be courteous, attentive, responsive and empowered to serve the city and it is time to demand the same from elected officials.
Christie New Craig has been outed by newspapers in the past for posting racist Muslim propaganda in 2015.
Va. school board chairwoman under fire for anti-Muslim post
She has not learned that her actions affect us all and that it is her duty to provide educated leadership.
Ms. New Craig has provided zero remorse for continuing to post racist memes, scribbling conspiracy theories about Covid-19, or boldly refusing to wear a mask for the safety of others.
Chesapeake School Board member has spread false information about coronavirus and masks
As a school board member, it is unconscionable that she spread uneducated and misleading information. Her failed maintenance of two social media personas show that her personal beliefs clearly influence decisions she is making as a school board member.
It is additionally disturbing at the lack of responsiveness or attention by other school board members. Christie New Craig does not represent our city. She does not represent our schools. She does not embody what we try to teach our children. Christie New Craig must be removed from the board to ensure that decisions about the safety of our students, teachers and school staff are made from an educated and responsible body.
Please join us in demanding that Chesapeake take action. Sign our petition, or better yet, show up at the next July 27 School Board meeting at 6pm. The location is currently not listed, but will be updated; or,
if you would like to make a complaint regarding harassment and discrimination, contact, Director of Student Services at 312 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, Virginia, 23322, phone (757) 547-0585.
