Esta petición nace de una preocupación que compartimos muchos vecinos de Chayofa: la velocidad a la que circulan algunos vehículos por nuestras calles y el riesgo que esto supone para peatones, niños, personas mayores y animales.

En los últimos días, el Ayuntamiento de Arona ha comenzado a tomar algunas medidas y queremos empezar por agradecer que nos haya escuchado y que haya dado un primer paso. Para nosotros, que los vecinos sean escuchados es importante.

Pero consideramos que esto es solo el principio.

Hay todavía numerosos puntos críticos en Chayofa donde los vehículos continúan circulando a velocidades que no se corresponden con los límites establecidos. Si antes no se respetaban los 30 km/h, nos preocupa que un nuevo límite de 20 km/h tampoco sea respetado si no existen medidas físicas y controles suficientes que obliguen realmente a reducir la velocidad.

Por eso pedimos al Ayuntamiento de Arona que continúe actuando y que:

• Instale más badenes y elementos de calmado de tráfico en los puntos críticos que todavía necesitan medidas urgentes.

• Revise las zonas donde sea necesario implantar nuevas medidas de seguridad vial.

• Mantenga y refuerce los controles de velocidad.

• Estudie otras soluciones que permitan garantizar de forma permanente el cumplimiento de los límites de velocidad.

No queremos que estas medidas sean consecuencia de una tragedia. Queremos prevenir antes de tener que lamentar.

Esta no es una reivindicación política. Es una petición ciudadana.

Somos vecinos de Chayofa y queremos poder caminar por nuestras calles con tranquilidad y seguridad.

Agradecemos al Ayuntamiento de Arona que haya comenzado a escucharnos. Ahora le pedimos que continúe escuchando y, sobre todo, que continúe actuando.

Porque la seguridad vial no debería depender de que haya una patrulla de policía durante unas horas.

Necesitamos medidas permanentes, efectivas y suficientes.

This petition stems from a concern shared by many residents of Chayofa: the speed at which some vehicles travel through our streets and the risk this poses to pedestrians, children, the elderly, and animals.
In recent days, the Arona Town Hall has begun to take some measures, and we want to start by thanking them for listening to us and taking a first step. For us, it is important that residents are heard.
However, we believe this is only the beginning.
There are still numerous critical points in Chayofa where vehicles continue to drive at speeds that do not comply with the established limits. If the 30 km/h limit was not respected before, we are concerned that a new 20 km/h limit will not be respected either unless physical measures and sufficient enforcement are in place to truly force speed reduction.
Therefore, we ask the Arona Town Hall to keep taking action and to:
• Install more speed bumps and traffic calming elements at critical points that still need urgent measures.
• Review areas where it is necessary to implement new road safety measures.
• Maintain and reinforce speed controls.
• Study other solutions that permanently guarantee compliance with speed limits.
We do not want these measures to be the consequence of a tragedy. We want to prevent rather than regret.
This is not a political claim. This is a citizen petition.
We are residents of Chayofa and we want to be able to walk through our streets with peace of mind and safety.
We thank the Arona Town Hall for starting to listen to us. Now we ask them to keep listening and, above all, to keep acting.
