Hello everyone! 

I've chosen the trophy cabinet of the delightful Kingfishers Swimming Club as the photograph to accompany this update. Its celebration of success is very apt. 

Following the much publicised Town Council meeting back in June, at which councillors declined to support the Asset of Community Value nomination, the Town Council committed to revisit their decision at their next meeting.

That meeting was tonight, and the Town Council decided to support our nomination! 

The decision was almost unanimous, with just one councillor (Cllr Florence Newell) abstaining and no objections. 

The fundraisers, trustees and I have worked hard over the last month to provide the Town Council with as much information as possible to help inform their decision. This was taken into account during the meeting, but I have no doubt that the overwhelming support from both groups and organisations - as well as the incredible 1,200 people who signed this petition - played a very important part. Thank you to each and every one of you.

There is now just one final hurdle. A meeting at Fenland District Council next week will make a final decision on our application, considering all of the support and evidence we have submitted.
