It's been 4 days since the CDC added type 1 diabetes at the same level as type 2 when it comes to COVID risks.

Massachusetts has not acted on the updated guidance.

• Over 14,000 petition supporters urging Governor Baker to listen to the science and include type 1 at the same level as type 2.
• CDC guidance includes type 1 diabetes as at risk for severe illness
• The science confirms people with type 1 diabetes are 3x more likely to be hospitalized, intubated, in the ICU, or die from COVID.
•  The media are calling for type 1 diabetes to be urgently included as a comorbidity for the COVID vaccine in MA.
• 50,000 adults in MA living with type 1 urgently need COVID vaccine access.

It's not just about vaccine access anymore. It's about people with type 1 diabetes- despite complex care and significant health implications- being at the bottom tier of health priorities now and in the future.
