Thanks to Scott Shafer for the latest contribution. We have raised $2400 so far. There are SO MANY polluting diesel buses rolling through (or idling in) downtown Boulder. The cumulative effect seems almost certain to be unhealthy. Last year my wife developed severe hives that lasted for months. Several doctors could not cure her. Finally a wholistic doctor urged us to buy sophisticated Swiss made air filter machines for our condo. Three weeks later, the hives were gone - never to return. She was the victim of environmental pollutants in downtown Boulder. And, she was impacted INSIDE our condo. Think of the Boulder pedestrians and bikers forced to breathe these pollutants OUTSIDE! The air quality study we propose (to be performed by a reputable independent engineer in consultation with a distinguished CU Professor - both PhD's) either will put our concerns about diesel buses to rest or prove that we have a problem.
