Congrats to RTD on the inaugural running of the "A" Line light rail to DIA - a major positive step for our region. Unfortunately I had to ride the diesel "Flatiron Polluter" for my trip to Union Station to see the train. For our diesel bus pollution and environmental concerns to be taken seriously by RTD and by the City Of Boulder, we need a highly credible preliminary test of the air quality in downtown Boulder - including the Pearl Street Mall where we shop and dine and the Boulder High School where our kids go to school. We have been working with a professional engineering firm ("Quality Environmental Services") and with a distinguished Professor of Environmental Engineering at CU. We have a proposal to conduct rigorous scientific measurements of nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide and black carbon particles in downtown Boulder. The cost is $4500. My wife Barbara and I are willing to contribute $1,000. We need 35 supporters to each contribute $100. Of course, larger contributions also are welcome. If we do not receive sufficient contributions, we will notify donors and tear up your checks.
