The latest proposed amendments to LEOSA stalled and died in Congress at the end of the term. However, the proponent of those amendments, Rep. Don Bacon of NE, has promised new and more significant amendments that he will put forth in the new term. Hard to fathom why this important and common sense legislation has such a tough road. We supposedly have a President who is pro law enforcement, and many members of Congress who say they support law enforcement as well, but you would never know it when it comes to passing legislation.
