This petition is born out of a deeply personal tragedy. A resident of Wakeeney, Kansas, who is of age 50 plus, and engaged in the occupation of air conditioning repair, is involved in the propagation of child pornography online, causing unimaginable harm to my daughter and our family.

Child exploitation, like this case, is not a one-off event but rather a terrifying reality for too many children. FBI data reports that approximately one third of the world's pedophiles are in the United States, posing a serious threat to the safety of our children (Source: FBI). In Kansas, specifically, there has been a 20% increase in child pornography related crimes over the past three years (Source: Kansas Bureau of Investigation). Our criminal justice system must be more proactive and aggressive to hold individuals like this Wakeeney resident accountable to the maximum extent of the law.
