Changing landfill into a conservation reserve

Changing landfill into a conservation reserve
The issue
The clean landfill next to Thomastown East Recreation Reserve will soon be closing. It would be a great opportunity to replace it with a conservation reserve for native species. With added paths, it would be habitat for a wide range of native plants and animals, which the public could enjoy.
In suburban areas, there isn't much room for wildlife and many small bush bird populations are decreasing, but the neighboring Thomastown East Recreation Reserve still has a good population. If new habitat is made it would save their future in the area.
The conservation reserve could also be used to teach the public about nature and also would be a nice parkland for citizens to enjoy.
It is a very serious matter to conserve our biodiversity in our growing world to ensure our future. Small conservation efforts can make a difference.
