Change the Math Curriculum to be Useful in Ontario.

Change the Math Curriculum to be Useful in Ontario.
The Issue
Teenagers in Ontario are forced to learn quadratic equations and calculus, but not how to do taxes and how to create a sustainable budget in regards to today's economy. The information being taught in high schools is ludicrous, and one hundred percent useless. These incredibly complex topics such as: quadratic equations, parabolas, linear functions, etc. are not used outside of high school, unless you are in college learning it in order to become a high school teacher, or a mathematician. It is destroying the mental health of teenagers across the country, bringing down the class G.P.As of every school, and taking up valuable time and energy for something that will ultimately never be used.
If this changes, there will be more opportunities to learn useful information. Things like, taxes, how to calculate for renovations, budgeting in a poor economy, ways to make money as a teen, how to measure and do calculations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, etc. in their heads. These things sound simple, but they are useful, and not at all stressful. If we want students to stop hating school, we need to stop mandating useless and overly complicated classes.
If we can save the coming generations the agony of learning these superfluous concepts, we will see less dropouts, less teen suicide, and more passion for learning. The new generation of children seem like they don't have much hope, but we can change that. Let's make our curriculum something beneficial and productive, instead of wasting taxpayer money to teach children useless concepts!
