We, the students of Capital High School, are writing this because we believe Mr. Larry Moore should be the next Principal of our school. Mr. Moore isn’t just someone who works here he’s someone who knows us, understands us, and genuinely cares about us. He grew up on the West Side of Charleston just like many of us, and he graduated from this very school. He’s walked the same halls, sat in the same classrooms, and faced the same challenges we face every day.

Mr. Moore started as our Dean and Interventionist, and because of his hard work, leadership, and the respect he’s earned, he’s now our Assistant Principal. But we know he’s capable of even more and we believe he’s the one who should lead our school. For years, decisions about our school have been made by people who don’t know us, don’t come from here, and don’t understand our culture. Why keep looking elsewhere when we have someone right here who already connects with us and is already making a difference?

Mr. Moore coaches our sports teams, checks in on us when we’re struggling, and pushes us to be better students and better people. His passion for this school is real because it’s personal. He’s not just doing a job he’s giving back to the community that raised him. That’s the kind of leadership we need. That’s the kind of principal Capital High deserves.
