To whom it may concern,

We are students of Bremer High and we are wanting the choice to wear comfy pants that aren't too expensive. Our school pants are too expensive and extremely uncomfortable. We get punished for wearing the wrong pants but the school pants and the pants at lowes cut the circulation off in your legs and cut into your waist when you sit down. we are expected to be able to freely move in these pants that rip if you squat.

We understand that the school has to make a uniform for everyone to wear to keep us safe from intruders as well as the fact that they have to buy ethically and sustainably and still make a profit. However we also see the other side of things. We are currently in a cost of living crisis and not everyone can afford the school uniform with the price of one school uniform for one kid is over $100. This is not including the formal shirt and tie, the winter uniform and the all black leather shoes, as well as the fees to attend our school. We already have basketball shorts for those in the sporting programs, why not make all of our pants like that? 

Some people can't afford the $50+ uniforms and get cheaper alternatives and get suspension warnings and severe detentions. They're trying to do their best. If you tried on pants at your favourite shop that are like $50 and you didn't like the way they fit or how uncomfortable they are when you sit, would you buy them? Would you waste your money on something you're either never going to wear or hate wearing?

We believe. We strive. We achieve. We can't do that without comfort. We get distracted by the pain we are in while wearing these pants and we cannot strive to be the best that we can. We believe we can do better with comfier clothes. With more comfort, we can achieve more. We just need your help to be the best we can be.

All we are asking is to change our uniform. The rules are too strict and we want the choice to wear something comfortable without getting detentions and suspension warnings. Changing our shorts to a more comfortable and affordable material, like the sports academy's pants, is in the best interest of Bremer Students so we can Believe, Strive and Achieve to the best of our abilities.

The rules and punishments around uniform are getting more and more ridiculous every day. We have to be at school, why not be comfortable?
