Change our exams back to Friday

The Issue

Many students, including myself, are facing significant financial and logistical difficulties due to the recent shift in exam schedules from Friday to other days of the week. For those relying on part-time jobs to support their education, this change is not just an inconvenience—it poses a real financial burden as they are often required to take unpaid leave or adjust their work schedules drastically. Moreover, students commuting from different towns face increased travel costs and difficulty securing affordable accommodation for the newly scheduled exam days.

The earlier schedule, with exams on Fridays, provided a balanced and accommodating framework, allowing students to manage their academic responsibilities alongside professional and personal commitments. The current change disrupts this balance and disproportionately affects students who are already under financial strain.

This is not merely an issue of preference, but of necessity for many who need to pay rent, support families, or save up for their tuition fees. The added stress of adjusting to new exam days only complicates their already challenging situations, impacting mental health and academic performance.

We urge the administration, faculty, and all decision-makers involved, to reconsider this change and revert the exam schedules back to Fridays. Such a move would demonstrate empathy towards your student body and facilitate a more conducive learning environment.

By signing this petition, we request the administration to acknowledge these genuine concerns and work towards a resolution that supports and benefits the entire student community. Please lend your support by signing and sharing this petition.
