Change for Domestic Violence Training By Police Departments

The Issue

Unfortunately Domestic violence is becoming a problem in our country more and more. And when handling this problem more often than not police training falls short on the proper way of what is best in a scenario for an abuse victim. Recently, I like many closely watched the case of Gabby Petito the beautiful young woman traveling across the country with her boyfriend that had gone missing. As a former abuse victim hearing the story with everything inside of me I feared for the worst. Then watching the police footage I knew it could’ve easily been avoided That tragedy would strike for Gabby and her family. I do not believe the police did enough that day. Change can be done in police departments across the United States to help women of domestic abuses so they do not feel further victimized when they are in a panic state, upset, confused, and made to fear jail Themselves as police often threaten. And now here we are today hearing she may lost her life to know that more often than not that this is why abuse victims do not come forward. Please stand with me and help this vicious cycle come to an end.! This for Gabby Petito and all of women suffering like her that can’t speak for themselves !
