Change LCISD dress code

Change LCISD dress code
The Issue
I do not support wearing booty shorts or underwear to school. That would completely go against the current dress code in place. However, If someone decides to wear leggings to school because they can’t find jeans would that be against the dress code? Shorts and leggings would be fully fine if you’re in a sport like cheer or volleyball, but the moment a female with a curvy figure wears them it becomes controversial. These athletes should be held to the same standards anyone else in the school faces. The district claims to be “Anti-discriminatory,” But there's a continuous bias towards athletes which should end. In addition, Females are constantly picked on by adult staff to cover up more and reveal less. On the other hand, Males rarely hear phrases like “That’s too short” “Too baggy” and “Too distracting.” Some are even sent to ISS (a punishment which on your record) for wear shorts that were not “long enough.” Females should not be instilled with the fear that a male might inappropriately touch them based on a tank top a male would wear to football practice. Why should my body or anyone else’s be treated like a weapon? A school is a place where we can express ourselves and learn, and the dress code should reflect that. Now is the time for a change in the way Fulshear and LCISD expect females to dress. If you cared about our education then you would stop the objectification.
