This is a serious matter that needs to be debated in the Houses of Parliament!

Even the latest date for Easter (April 25th) is not exceptionally common either - on the assumption that these celebrities mentioned were Western Christians, these people only ever got to see Easter as late as April 24th in 2011, meaning that not everyone gets to see the absolute latest date! 

Some people have even fared worse, for example Michael Jackson (who died before 2011) and footballer George Best never even got to see an April 24th Easter either, meaning their absolute latest Easter was when it fell on it’s third-latest date in 2000 and of course, those born after 1944 and dying before 2000 only got to see Easter as late as April 22nd (1962, 1973 and 1984) meaning they only saw a narrow range between March 25th-April 22nd.

The Gregorian system is unfair compared to the Julian system – those in Athens and Crete get all the glory of experiencing extremely early and late Easter dates (as the population in Athens and Crete are primarily Orthodox) but in Western countries like the UK where Protestant/Catholic traditions dominate, we are all barred from the same experience our Greek friends enjoy!

Breaching 100 signatures was a monumental milestone, meaning that this campaign is extremely important as many Orthodox Christians under 18 and TOO YOUNG TO DRINK have already seen the 2010 earliest possible date as it happened so recently! 

Orthodox Christians born in late 2008 or 2009 get to see their earliest and second-earliest dates IN THEIR 20s, while Western Christians born in those same years will never get to see an earlier-than-March-25th Easter without campaigns!

While I have achieved my personal goal of celebrating Easter on 22nd March 2026, we have 17 years to campaign and urge policymakers to officially change the date of Easter in 2043, 2054 or even 2065 (in all these years the official date is March 29th). I am no longer targeting 2037 or 2048 because the Orthodox dates happen to align in those years.

An Orthodox Christian born in 1975 and living until 2065 to the ripe old age of 90 NOT ONLY gets to see their absolute earliest and latest dates, but every extreme date within a week of the earliest and latest dates as well as the exact middle date multiple times, as the list below shows!

This is in addition to the standard, uninteresting dates like April 18 NS/April 5 OS so the 90-year period between 1975-2065 has a wide array of interesting Orthodox Easter dates, whereas that same period for Western Easter contains not one “official” March 22nd Easter without petitions or campaigns - which is the reason this “Easter campaign” exists!

Given that within the last 50 years millions of Orthodox Christians across the globe have seen their earliest, third-earliest and latest Easter dates and are set to see their second-earliest, second-latest and third-latest dates within the next 30 years, we need to campaign and we need to CAMPAIGN NOW!

As we are well over 100 signatures, referring to the so-called “birthday paradox” , there is now a 99.9% chance that at least two signers of this campaign share a birthday, maybe even a March 22nd birthday!

Much like Norway is known as the land of the midnight sun and the USA is known as the New World, Greece is the land of the extreme Easter dates!
