The new fizzy drink lids are an annoyance and an insult to the intelligence of the general public. We don’t need these drink companies to “leash the lid” of their drink to get us to recycle them. 

I understand this change was made to protect wildlife and improve recycling of drink bottle lids. But, the design is terrible and leads to frustration as it takes ten times longer to align the lid such that it screws on properly and most people end up ripping them off anyway. This creates sharp edges that are unsafe.

Trust us to recycle the lids. The point has been made and maybe we all had to go through this in order to get the message, since the lids weren’t always able to be recycled. 

Make this change and put belief into the general public to do the right thing.
