We are deeply concerned members of Carmyle Parent Council, Glasgow, The detrimental effects of the budget cuts marked as "education service reform" by Glasgow City Council will have devastating effects on all children in this authority. These cuts are not just figures on a paper; they are affecting real lives - our children's lives. Over the next three years, we will see 450 teaching jobs axed, putting immense pressure on front-line workers in schools from headteachers to class teachers. 

This is not just about job losses; it is about the health and wellbeing of those who remain in their roles. The increased stress and mental health issues among school staff will inevitably impact our children too. Additionally, budget cuts from resources and class materials will further undermine our children's education.

Our children deserve better than this. They deserve an education system that nurtures them rather than one that is continuously stripped down due to budgetary constraints.

We must challenge these decisions made by Glasgow City Council and demand a response.
