La causa
Galápagos es una de las provincias del Ecuador que ha sufrido terriblemente las consecuencias de esta pandemia, su gente está desesperada sin ningún tipo de ingresos desde hace aproximadamente 6 meses y la razón es sencillamente porque está provincia depende en un 85 % del turismo, actividad que se ha visto directa y totalmente perjudicada.
Nos condonen las deudas que se nos han acrecentando debido a la Catástrofe mundial que ha sufrido el mundo entero por el COVID-19.
"No podemos pagar las deudas, no tenemos dinero ni para comer, hemos empezado entre todos nosotros los pobladores de esta provincia a hacer trueque para poder subsistir."
La ayuda que recibimos de los Gobiernos Central, Consejo de Gobierno del Régimen Especial de la Provincia de Galápagos y Gobiernos Municipales son insuficientes o hasta prácticamente nulos ya que no se ve gestión real o iniciativa alguna para palear los ahogos y necesidades de los pobladores de esta provincia.
Estamos desesperados y con hambre, razón por la cual nos hemos lanzado a las calles a protestar y exigirle al gobierno que gestione ayudas para este pueblo que está cayendo cada vez más profundo en la desesperación, la hambruna y la necesidad.
A la vez solicitamos la condonacion total de nuestras deudas o al mínimo una prórroga de al menos unos 2 años a partir de que se normalice la situación en nuestro archipiélago y empecemos a recibir el turismo pilar importante para nuestra economía.
Demostrando con todo lo mencionado, que el Consejo de Gobierno que debería ser el asesor del pueblo, y que en el pleno del Consejo de Gobierno que es donde; se toman las decisiones que favorecen y fortalecen a la población de la provincia de Galápagos no ha sido tomado en cuenta y al contrario han estado tomando decisiones unilaterales a puerta cerrada afectando nuestros intereses de manera que debe esclarecerse que el pueblo es el MANDANTE y por primera vez en la historia los galapagueños nos hemos unido para alzar la voz y hacernos escuchar
