In a recent visit to the Delhi Zoo, we saw that wild cats and several other animals were being kept in tiny cages where the wild cats could barely move around, let alone explore their territory. This is a familiar scenario we have seen from childhood across many Zoos.

As maturing humans, we must go beyond treating caged wild animals as entertainment for children. As humans, we feel constricted even if some bit of our freedom of movement is curtailed. Wild Animals deserve their natural territory, and sufficient space around.

The concept of Wildlife Sanctuary, National Park, Reserved Forest etc is good and deservedly coming from us humans- where we visit the animals in their natural territory.

We believe that in a phased manner each Zoo in City shall gradually give way to animals going in their natural territories such as Wildlife Sanctuary, National Park, Reserved Forest. We request the Central Zoo Authority to take this primary cause of wild animals caged in Zoos across India. By gradual shifting of wild animals to natural forest territories, CZA will be the Protector of Wild Animals in the true sense.
