Dear supporters, here is an update on the public beach plan in front of Idyll Glen.  First, we wish to reiterate that we are not against the public swimming at the beach.  What we are against is people parking their vehicles on Idyll Glen Road between the beach and our playground.  This is out of concern for our children's safety.  Yesterday, we had a two hour discussion with some Central Manitoulin representatives, something we've been asking for since last fall when the municipality hatched this public beach initiative.  Although we wish this whole fiasco never occurred and we could simply go back to the way things were before, it was made clear that unless we came to some sort of agreement, the municipality would more than likely go ahead with their plans and perhaps end up taking over the entire shoreline and breakwater and leaving us nothing but our docks and boat launch as was their initial intention.  This would be very disruptive to our business and to our campers.  We therefore offered a proposal that we believe we and our campers can live with and that could be to both ours and the public's benefit.  It is now up to Council to consider and either accept or deny it.  In the meantime, please continue to share and put pressure on Council to do the right thing.  Thank you.
