Grow Northland Rail. 
An integrated transport strategy that actually includes Rail will help the Northland economy, reduce reliance on already truck-congested roads,  making it safer for our communities and supporting real economic growth in a cleaner way.

A Rail link to Marsden Point for freight and passenger services. 70% of all freight use to go by rail to the old Whangarei port, unfortunately when the port moved to NorthPort they never prepared by building the rail link. Now look what we suffer, log/trucks congested roads. Other Regional Councils get it and have Rail/Road hubs. For example in the Eastern BOP, on a peak day 7 log trains run to the Port of Tauranga, that is 140 truck & trailer units per train off their main roads and on rail.
