I went to Jaipur a while back and saw tourists painting on elephants. They were using water colours to paint their names and draw pictures on the elephant. The elephants looked well-trained (elephants are tortured to stand still) to stay still while their bodies were painted on. One of the elephants moved her head slightly and the tourist got scared. She was caned by her master. It truly hurts me to see such form of disguised animal cruelty. Don't people think how much it would hurt the elephant when the paint was scrubbed off of their bodies? Don't they realise that the elephant standing still while they paint on him is not a sign of the elephant liking them, but that the animal's scared of getting tortured?

Please. We need to stop this. Sign this petition and let it reach our government and PETA. Let them know that seeing elephants paint or painting on them is not fun. It's downright CRUEL. Let's make them take the appropriate measures to stop this torture.
