Like countless residents of Houston, I am exhausted by the regular service interruptions and inflated prices brought about by Center Point Energy. Every storm results in days, sometimes weeks, of lost service. Hurricane Beryl proves that this condition is worsening and not improving. This is not just an inconvenience—it's a life-threatening issue. Meanwhile, Center Point Energy's CEO continues to amass millions in personal wealth. It's time we held them accountable. 

We ask for a full public audit of Center Point Energy's budget along with a transparent disclosure of their long-term maintenance plan. Moreover, we demand the company's financial reports for the past five years be made available for public scrutiny. This action is not without precedent. Energy companies across the globe, such as Australia's Origin Energy and Germany's RWE, are trending towards more transparency in response to public demand. We also ask that Center Point Energy Utilize the Lineworkers efficiently that have traveled from other areas to aid in repair.

Center Point Energy serves over five million metered customers in six states. That's five million individuals at the mercy of a company way past due for a thorough public audit.

Transparency is a step toward accountability. Let's ensure Houstonians and all Center Point Energy customers get the reliable, fairly priced service they deserve. Sign the petition to demand a full public audit and financial transparency from Center Point Energy.
