We wanted to update you on more articles that were published in the last 24 hours that contain stunning revelations.
Yesterday's Christianity Today article reveals, "The Village Church confirmed in a statement to CT that while the church kept aspects of Moore’s story confidential from the congregation at the direction of the victim, 'we did thoroughly inform Cedarville University about all of the known details of Anthony’s offense and reiterated clearly that we did not believe he was fit for ministry of any kind.'”
This TVC statement on the record goes further than the one The Roys Report quoted. It firmly and clearly asserts that Dr. White knew everything about Dr. Moore's crime, a felony in the state of Texas, when he hired him, including the fact that Moore had made 5 videos over the course of several months. Secondly, The Roys Report released a disturbing, new article today. It reveals that Dr. Moore invited a student in the 2017-2018 academic year (the first Moore was at CU), to go hunting with him. When the student's concerned parent called Dr. White to inquire into Moore's background, White "misled" him, telling him Moore had had a "'technologically related' moral failure that involved another man, but Moore didn’t act on it." As the disturbing facts in this case continue to emerge, it is more clear now than ever that Dr. White must be terminated from his employment as President of Cedarville University. We believe in grace and forgiveness. We, too, work with those who fall into sin to help restore them. However, we firmly believe that the restoration process should never be tied to a job in ministry and certainly should not be ongoing while the person being restored is simultaneously working in ministry. We likewise believe that intentions do not negate impact: Although Dr. White claims to have had heartfelt intentions toward his brother in Christ, those intentions were on the one hand, misguided in terms of the circumstances and on the other hand, dangerous, as they put countless CU students at risk.
Thank you for helping us top 1100 signatures! Please continue to share the facts in this case widely and to call for Dr. White's termination. The trustees begin to meet tomorrow.
