Cease UK Government's Unethical Practice of Exploiting Vulnerable Citizens
The Issue
Speaking from personal experience and representing many like me - disabled, elderly, or simply vulnerable - this issue hits close to home. Despite the hardships many face in their everyday lives, the UK government seems insistent on further enhancing their miseries, siphoning what little they have to line their own pockets. Considering the fact that approximately 20% of the UK population, nearly 14 million people, live in poverty, the government's actions are not only morally reprehensible but also destructive to societal wellbeing (Source: Social Metrics Commission).
The Expedited Taxation Bill, poised to slash public benefits, while increasing perks for the privileged, is a glaring instance of the economic disenfranchisement the government is perpetuating. We must, as concerned citizens, stand against this unethical practice!
Our government should be a body that protects and aids its citizens, not one that exacerbates their struggles. Therefore, this exploitative behaviour must stop. Sign this petition today, and take a stand against the unethical enrichment of a select few at the cost of society's most vulnerable.
