Like countless others, I grew up with the magic of Harry Potter. The books and movies have shaped many people's imaginations worldwide, which continues to this day. Over the years, the franchise has extended beyond the books and films, but it’s time to stop. 

The Harry Potter TV series threatens to diminish the magic the books and movies have given us. Its creation tarnishes the legacy that we so dearly love. As the saying goes, less is more; in this case, it’s the truth. 

The actors and actresses who brought the Harry Potter characters to life have made us love (or hate) each character. No other actor or actress can replace them, no matter what or who they choose to cast. 

No one can replace the iconic roles of Dame Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, Michael Gambon, Robbie Coltrane, Richard Griffiths, Richard Harris, Helen McCrory, and many more beloved actors and actresses who we have sadly lost. We need to keep their memory of their characters as they are  

This petition is a plea to leave the story we love untouched, and to let it rest as the cherished memory it was meant to be.
