CCA Alumni Audits for Inadequate Campus Experience

The Issue

Over this past summer, as CCA underwent a significant transition, all students were left without access to facilities that are typically available. This limitation has disrupted the learning & creative experience, where many students rely on CCA’s facilities for ongoing projects, experimentation, course fulfillment, and career development. Additionally, the current state of campus is not meeting the high standards that CCA is known for. With staffing issues, reduced operating hours of key facilities, and a notable decrease in working machines & facilities, our educational experience has become increasingly challenging, and unfortunately, inadequate.

Given these circumstances, I am advocating for the reinstatement of alumni audit privileges for every semester the campus has been insufficient for the learning experience. Alumni audits are not new for the school, noting that CCA has previously done this for students during COVID. These serve as a vital bridge for continuing education, professional development, and further engagement with the CCA community; they would not only help alleviate the current resource constraints but also uphold the school's spirit of continuous engagement with alumni.

In a time when the college is navigating a complex change, it’s crucial to maintain the connection to students and alumni, and to ensure that all graduates can actively contribute to and benefit from CCA’s evolving environment. I am urging the administration to consider this request as a crucial step in supporting both current students and alumni, ensuring that CCA remains a place of opportunity, growth, and innovation.
