Thanks to over 115,000 of you, we were able to bring the message behind this campaign directly to Gray TV’s headquarters in Atlanta, GA, and it did not make them happy.
We’ve been fighting for months to get Gray TV to give me co-copyright status of the video of my daughter Alison’s murder. They refuse to do so. Without co-copyright, I have no legal recourse to force social media to remove the video. Almost every day, that video continues to be uploaded to the internet.
That’s why we took this billboard directly to Gray TV’s headquarters. Watch it and share. It tells the story of our campaign, the support we’ve built, and why it’s so urgent for Gray TV to act.
Gray Television tried to silence us. As the mobile billboard played around their headquarters, they called the police, who pulled over our mobile billboard and questioned the driver. They also called the police on me – a grieving father – and filed a report that said if I ever visit Gray TV’s headquarters, they’ll have me arrested.
I’m not going to let up, and neither will the 115,000 and counting who’ve signed my petition. We are going to keep the pressure on Gray Television to do the right thing and give me, Alison’s dad, co-copyright of this video - a graphic moment of horrific violence - so that I can take my fight elsewhere to make sure my daughter’s murder isn’t shared online.
Gray TV can threaten to arrest me and ask the police to pull over our mobile billboards. But that type of bullying shows that we’re shining a light on their actions and they know it.
