I have been watching Big Brother since the first season, and it has always been my favorite summer show. Yesterday I was very disturbed while reading articles about the hateful speech being used by certain cast members during the live feeds. CBS has a no tolerance policy when it comes to physical abuse, so why is bullying okay?
1.) Aaryn and Gina Marie make fun of Helen, an Asian-American contestant and say "Dude, shut up. Go make some rice." Later, they say this about Helen: "Andy was like, 'I'm gonna punch her in the face,' and I was like, 'Maybe that'll make her eyes straight.'"
2.) Later, conversation turned to the two African American cast members, Howard and Candice. "Blacks stick together ... They're like tokens ... They're like black Barbie and Kens." A cast member also refers to Welfare as "n****r insurance" and says to be careful while talking in a dark room because you won't be able to see Candice.
3.) Spencer repeatedly calls gay cast member, Andy, "Kermit the f*g" to his face. He also calls women "c**t" on more than one occasion, and praises Hitler.
This is just a small sample of the disgusting speech used by people in the Big Brother house. Please sign this petition to let CBS know that we also want a zero tolerance policy when it comes to bullying. Thank you.
