Well, The City of Casselberry has heard our cries for a skatepark, but so far the response has been; hurry up and wait. According to guidance provided by City Staff, there is no provision for a skatepark in the City's Parks Master Plan, so we'll need to wait until next year to address that, then maybe... Skateboarding teaches that refusing to fail or be set-back by an obstacle is the core to success. Truth is - there is no Parks Master Plan, simply a 10 year old draft of one that was never adopted. You read that right, nothing in 10 years. We love what has been happening over those past few years, Casselberry has gotten a lot done in that time. The missing element has been providing for our kids that love skateboarding and BMX and are currently shut out of all parks. The time to begin the discussion of when we're going to have them off the streets and into a skatepark is now. Share this petition, call or visit Commissioners personally, attend Commission Meetings and be heard in Public Comment, just do something to keep this issue on the front burner.
