It's clearly time for a change, the entire Casey city is furious with the rapid increase in aggravated burglaries and car jackings targeted to our area. The majority of these offenders are in their teens, which therefore means their punishment is generally no more than a slap on the wrists. A week later, the same teens are out committing the exact same crimes. On speaking to many police recently they are completely fed up, they are tired of catching the same kids every week, sending them to court, only to have them let off. These people enter family homes during the night, steal cars and destroy them. Due to their age they are less likely to be liable for damages, leaving our families out of pocket and fearing for their families safety. Good hard working people are having sleepless nights, their keys and wallets gripped to them in their beds, with bats and bars next to their beds in case of intruders. Casey doesn't have enough police to keep up with the growing population, and the courts are clearly clueless with what these people are doing and the impact they're all having. Last week it was our turn, we were broken in to and car stolen last week while my wife, my 2 year old daughter and I slept. Now my wife can barely sleep, anxiety is through the roof, and she now has a knife next to her bed and sleeps with her car keys. Why should we have to live like this in a peaceful lovely area? It's time to make a stand and make a change. We need more police and we need tighter laws in the courts. Or else it is only going to get worse. And if it does, I doubt many of us are going to live here much longer. The rapidly blossoming Casey shire will soon become a shell of what it was growing to become.
