Modify Carmel Clay Schools Virtual/Hybrid Plan for the 2020-2021 School Year.

Modify Carmel Clay Schools Virtual/Hybrid Plan for the 2020-2021 School Year.
The Issue
After reading the school board's plan for the 2020-2021 school year and talking to Carmel Clay School teachers, it is easy to find some major flaws within the school board's plans. Firstly those who choose the virtual plan due to COVID-19 concerns, will be unable to participate in extracurriculars, including but not limited to clubs, sports, and performing arts. Thus, clubs, sports, and performing arts will only be available to those who choose the hybrid plan. Furthermore, as virtual learning will be run on the PLATO learning system which limited to certain courses, many students will be unable to participate in honor classes, band, choir, orchestra, and many AP classes. (You can see the full course list at: https://www.edmentum.com/course-catalog?state=106
Essentially what the school board is doing is limiting those with underlying medical issues or elderly family members within their household and denying them the ability to take courses that they signed up for previously. Thus practically forcing many students to choose the hybrid plan consequently risking the lives of students and the lives of others. We suggest that the school board addresses the concerns of the public and revises their plan for the 2020-2021 school year in order to accommodate the needs and interests of the students that they are personally responsible for.
During these troubling times, it's hard to get your voice heard. Currently, the school board isn't listening to students nor their parents. If we want to make change it starts right now. Please sign this petition and share it with others. If you have any suggestions or feedback regarding next school year please submit them using this google form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScCtVeYo5EL7t0uHOdIoRl04F9c-B1Nb03YUInNa5dbFjIYNA/viewform and send an email to the school board (ccsboard@ccs.k12.in.us) and to Carmel High School's principal (tharmas@ccs.k12.in.us). Together we can make change in Carmel.
