CarMax claims in its advertising that "We select the best" and "We renew each car." They also claim that all of their cars are "CarMax Quality Certified." But don't be misled. In reality, CarMax is selling huge numbers of unsafe cars with killer safety defects, like exploding airbags that spew metal shrapnel into drivers and passengers, causing blindness or other debilitating injuries, or bleeding to death; catching on fire; faulty brakes; loss of steering; seat belts that fail to work in a crash; and stalling in traffic. CarMax took in over $15 Billion last year, but they are too cheap to arrange to get the FREE safety recall repairs before they sell you a car. Instead, they charge top dollar for deathtraps. A new survey found that one "CarMax Quality Certified" pickup truck had 6 life-threatening safety recall defects. Since 2015, CarMax has more than doubled the percentage of dangerous, defective unrepaired recalled used cars for sale to consumers, according to Used Car Roulette, a new report by the Consumers for Auto Reliability and Safety Foundation, MASSPIRG Education Fund, and the Center for Auto Safety.
