The auto interests want to make it impossible for you to get your car re-registered, even if you have been attempting to get safety recall repairs done, and there are no parts available for months, or maybe a year or longer. Why are there so many dangerous cars on the road? Because they hid deaths and injuries from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, while they churned out tens of millions of cars with faulty air bags that are ticking time bombs. If they get their way, if a dealer sells you a faulty car, they could get away with it. But if you drive it, you could be pulled over and ticketed, and your vehicle could be impounded.
