TTT, the organisers of a popular petition in favour of the path, have called this public meeting to discuss proposals, now accepted by Carmarthenshire Council, and facilities for cycling generally in east Carmarthenshire. All are welcome. The meeting will hear Carmarthenshire Council's plans, from Simon Charles, its Manager for Transport Strategy and Infrastructure, as well as from Helen Davies of Sustrans and Phil Snaith, co-founder of Carmarthenshire Cycling Forum and take place on Tuesday 15 September at 7.30pm, upstairs in The Angel Inn, Rhosmaen Street, Llandeilo. It is still unclear what the attitude of Ysgol Bro Dinefwr is to the proposal for a safe cycle route to the new school being constructed in Ffairfach. Despite letters and phone calls the headmistress, Mrs Julie Griffiths, has not responded to requests for a conversation so that their views can be heard. We hope she or some of the governors will come to this event. If you know any of them, please invite them. The proposed cycle path would use the old railway track that forms the border between the new school car park and the school grounds and will eventually be a section of the Carmarthen to Llandeilo cycle route.
