CARMARTHENSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL TO REPLACE ALL TREES AFFECTED BY THE ASH DIEBACK DISEASE

CARMARTHENSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL TO REPLACE ALL TREES AFFECTED BY THE ASH DIEBACK DISEASE
The Issue
We are currently facing a climate emergency. Carmarthenshire County Council declared a climate emergency back in 2018. We have seen very little action from them since they declared the climate emergency, and it’s time to act now. With around 24,000 trees in Carmarthenshire affected by the ash dieback disease and due to be felled this year, I’m concerned about the future, I am calling on the council to introduce a tree planting scheme and for the council to look at all possible land suitable for tree planting in the county. I would also like to see the council planting at-least 3 trees for every tree felled during the ash dieback disease operation. Not only will this help mitigate climate change, but it will provide vital habitats to wildlife, and produce more oxygen for us to breathe.
