
Carlow University has released a statement saying:
“Thank you for your concern and advocacy. To be clear, Carlow students are our priority and will remain such. We know these are important decisions and we want to give you the time you need. All Carlow students desiring housing will be given priority accommodation in University residential housing, which includes Dougherty Hall. As communicated, we are offering open information sessions over the next two weeks to share details and to hear your feedback. We encourage you use this opportunity to discuss your needs with us”
Shortly after this note went out, student government met with both the office of student affairs and the office of provost, they both have guaranteed through discussion between administration and students at the informational meetings held on
Tuesday March 29, 11:00am-1:00pm in University Commons 2nd Floor
Wednesday March 30 3:00pm-5:00pm in University Commons 2nd Floor
Wednesday April 6 7:00pm-9:00pm in Franny’s located in Francis Warde Hall
Additional responses from administration:
The deposits for housing are now due May 1st allowing students to have more time to secure their housing for next semester.
Plan of action to accommodate single needed and wanted living spaces.
SGA will be notified and part of any additional changes and comments, with the goal of supporting the student body.
Finally, the student body will be given a seat on the University Policy Creation Committee to prevent further issues in the future.
