Hi all,

There are two major universities in Ottawa. One of these universities is providing students with diverse and adaptable solutions with respect to the provision of final grades and the writing of final examinations. The other university is Carleton.

UOttawa students have been receiving emails since Saturday night detailing each faculty's solution to the provision of final grades and exams. All faculties' policies share a common theme: putting the health of the student body first. Carleton now has no choice but to act - our petition has accumulated in excess of 3,500 signatures from concerned students and Carleton's main academic counterpart has taken a bold step in support of its students. I urge those of you with the emotional bandwidth to send an email voicing your support for UOttawa's policies and your desire to see them implemented at Carleton. I believe your emails ought to be directed to vpstudents@carleton.ca and provost@carleton.ca. 

Details of the policies implemented by UOttawa can be found at the links below. By and large, students are being given the option to take the best among 1) the grade calculated prior to the final 2) the grade calculated after the final 3) a pass/fail option.
