Save Plymouth Great Woods and surrounding area

The Issue

St Fagans has an area of outstanding natural beauty which is supposed to be protected under the 1987 conservation act. It is currently under attack from youths from the surrounding areas. They are cutting up the fields, chopping down ancient trees to make paths for their scramblers and making as much noise as possible. They have dumped and burnt cars and motorbikes in the woodlands. They are littering the pond and woodlands where birds and all different wild life reside with empty cans, throw away barbecues, empty wrappers the list goes on. They are setting fire to the fields and in the process killing wildlife and vegetation. They are using the footpaths around the pond and the roads of the local estate as their own tracks putting lives at risk including young children that play out. They are pulling down boundary fences and barriers that are in poor repair to gain access. These youths are causing the local residents severe anxiety and have no regard for the environment, wildlife and other human beings. I have heard on numerous occasions gun shots from the direction of the woods and whilst on my walks I have seen dead wildlife. I have even walked past a man carrying a rifle in the woods. This surely should not be allowed ? I am very concerned about my surrounding environment, wildlife and indeed my family’s safety.
