Do you think you may have been exposed to toxic fumes?  There are many that you may have been exposed to and may not even know it. Carbon Monoxide is colorless and odorless and you may not know when you are being exposed, so you have to pay attention to your body for the symptoms.

If you are exposed to something other than Carbon Monoxide; for example heated engine oil or hydraulic fluid, you may smell an odor. Here are some of the symptoms to watch for:

-Headache.

-Burning in your eyes, nose, back of your throat or in your chest.

-Dizziness.

-Lightheadedness.

-Shortness of breath.

-Increased heart rate. Check your Fitbit or smart watches.

-A very thick, heavy, musty, locker room smell, almost like dirty socks, that takes your breath away when you smell it. It is almost like walking into a wall of an odor that is so strong it takes your breath away. Once you smell it, you will never forget it.

-Nausea, or vomiting.

If you think you have been Exposed and can’t explain why you are having the symptoms you are having, seek medical care immediately!!  When you get to the emergency room make sure they do an ABG (Arterial Blood Gas) or a VBG (Venous Blood Gas) test, as well as urine and hair samples to check for the types of toxins you may have been exposed to.
