Finally heard back from Cape Cod National Seashore's legal representatives, and they have asked for a 30 day extension. They must need more time to sort through all that definitive data they have that proves the negative impact of kitesurfing to shorebirds. Last Nov at the Salt Pond Visitor Center presentation on the proposed new shorebird plan which included lethal predator control and a year round total kiteboarding ban, one of the rangers spoke about using heart rate monitors which showed how the birds were stressed when kitesurfers went by.
