Our case made the front page of the Outer Cape newspaper The Provincetown Banner! By now you all should have heard that Massachusetts Fish and Wildlife published a new 26 year shorebird Habitat Conservation Plan that allows local beaches more recreational access thanks to the rebounding plover populations. Coinciding with kiteboarding's growth in popularity, piping plovers numbers have increased such that they are no longer classified as endangered, supporting our contention that kiteboarding has not been negatively impacting shorebirds. Hopefully we are starting to get our message out to conservationists as well as fellow recreationalists. In the meantime we are still waiting to hear back from the National Seashore. They have until the beginning of August to respond to the lawsuit, so stay tuned and please keep getting the word out! Thanks everyone!
