Cap Monthly Insurance Premiums to a Maximum of RPI + 3%
Cap Monthly Insurance Premiums to a Maximum of RPI + 3%
The Issue
I, like many others, need a vehicle to provide for my family. It's not a luxury; it is a necessity in order for me to get to work and ensure my family's well-being. Despite this, I and many hardworking individuals are crippled by the high cost of insurance premiums. My yearly premium is a steep £2000, but spreading this cost over each month can result in a total nearing £4000. It is a burden that continues to grow, leaving me and others struggling to meet the cost of living. This is a concern not just for me, but countless hard-working individuals across the country. This practice targets those who may not have the means to pay an annual sum upfront, thus subsequently impacting the families who need the most support.
To alleviate these pressures, we propose that monthly insurance premiums should not be permitted to exceed the rate of inflation (as measured by the Retail Price Index) plus 3%. This fair and equitable measure could significantly reduce the financial strain for families like mine. Everyone deserves the right to proper coverage without costly premiums unjustifiably impacting their cost of living. Stand up for financial fairness and ensure that insurance companies are held accountable for their pricing strategies. Easing the burden on working families goes a long way in strengthening our society. Please sign this petition. Your support could bring about a change that positively influences the lives of many families in need of relief.
